Overview
Alis serves in the estate household and is trusted to manage Feyre directly, including her rooms, clothing, and practical adjustment to life in Prythian.
She is an urisk from the Summer Court who came to the Spring Court after her sister and her sister's mate were killed.
Her deepest loyalty runs to Feyre rather than to her masters: when Tamlin’s control leaves Feyre breaking down, Alis quietly gets her to safety instead of obeying him.
Alis and her nephews prepare to leave the Spring Court and return to Summer territory.
Appearance
Alis's true form is squat and bark-skinned. Her earlier appearance as a plump, brown-haired woman was a glamour.
Personality and Behavior
Blunt, sharp-tongued, and practical, Alis gives survival advice without softening its dangers. She notices Feyre's schemes quickly, criticizes reckless choices, and respects her willingness to defend herself without pretending that human precautions are enough against faeries.
Relationships
Alis is the guardian of her sister's orphaned sons. When Amarantha killed the boys' parents, Tamlin concealed Alis and her nephews in the Spring Court and gave Alis a place in his household.
When Tamlin imprisons Feyre inside the manor and Feyre collapses, Alis asks Mor to take Feyre away and care for her, placing Feyre's safety above obedience to Tamlin.
Alis knowingly protects Feyre's secrets after her escape, allowing the Spring Court household to believe that Mor abducted her. She also sees through Feyre's hostile account of the Night Court and recognizes that Feyre returned to Spring restored rather than corrupted, though she asks Feyre not to endanger her nephews.
Alis accepts that Feyre now belongs to the Night Court rather than Spring. Despite the Summer Court's blood ruby against Feyre, she promises that Feyre still has a friend in Summer territory.
Abilities and Skills
After Feyre helps a water-wraith, Alis explains that water-wraiths are slippery and dangerous, that the jewels will not sustain the creature for long, and that the aid places the wraith in Feyre's debt.
Important Events
Once the curse permits her to speak more freely, Alis agrees to help Feyre confront Amarantha and guides her through the wilderness to a hidden entrance beneath the mountain. She sends Feyre onward with warnings against the wine, careless bargains, and trusting anyone inside.
One part of the curse still physically prevents Alis from stating a crucial secret, so she urges Feyre to listen for the concealed clue. Remembering that warning helps Feyre identify the truth about Tamlin's stone heart.
