Overview

Tara is a first-year cadet from Morraine province. She enters Violet’s awareness through Rhiannon and shares Rhiannon’s long-standing fascination with dragons.

Tara remains close enough to Rhiannon and Violet’s circle to be present when Violet vents privately about mission leadership after the Senarium meeting.

Tara has jet-black hair cut very short.

Personality and Behavior

Tara carries herself with a confident air that reminds Violet of Mira. She has been obsessed with dragons since childhood and trades rumors with Rhiannon about command ambitions inside Basgiath’s hierarchy.

Rhiannon thinks of Tara as someone who would urge her to make her own luck rather than passively accept circumstances.

Relationships

Tara is romantically or sexually involved with Rhiannon by their first year. Violet notes that Rhiannon has been interested in Tara since arriving, and Tara is comfortable enough around Rhiannon to appear beside her in the private dorm hallway early in the morning.

Rhiannon and Tara’s relationship is known to others as an on-again, off-again attachment. By the approach to Parapet, Rhiannon says they are taking a breather.

Rhiannon still treats Tara as her on-and-off romantic partner, but their leadership duties leave little time for each other. Their arrangement allows both of them to see other people.

Tara supports Rhiannon before Battle Brief when Rhiannon is worried by a warning, rubbing her shoulder and advising her to show it to Markham. She greets Violet warmly before returning to First Wing’s seats.

Rhiannon values the official rooming arrangement with Violet because it gives her privacy for the rare times Tara can visit. Tara still brings Rhiannon private happiness inside Riorson House’s crowded living arrangements.

Book II · Ch. 51

Rhiannon clarifies that she and Tara are still together when their schedules allow and are not seeing other people. Leadership continues to make time difficult for both of them.
