Overview
Windhaven is an Illyrian village and active military training camp where ordinary settlement life surrounds the warriors’ practice grounds.
What sets Windhaven apart from a pure war-camp is its ordinariness: a full civilian settlement of families, livestock, and shops shares the mountaintop with the warriors’ training grounds.
Among the village’s houses and shops, a central fountain marks the settlement, and Rhysand’s mother’s old house stands nearby.
Beyond its everyday life, the camp is a hub of Illyrian military oversight — a stop on Cassian’s rounds as he gauges the legions’ readiness for war.
The camp later becomes a crime scene: signs left in one of its homes expose how the abducted women were seized and forced into the Blood Rite.
Important Events
Damage, scents, and other evidence in Emerie’s house reveal that Nesta and the other abducted women were taken into the Blood Rite.
